Advance Gamers was formed in 2006 by Keehin ‘Sparty’ Lomax and Lee ‘MiB’ Exley as ATGX, named after a chain of system released by our head sponsor Advance Technologies.
MiB later left ATGX to join GE Clan as manager for their Call of Duty 4 team, however left following a disagreement. He returned to ATGX in late 2009 bringing a Call of Duty 4 team with him which competed at Multiplay’s i38 LAN event. In November 2009, ATGX reformed as Advance Gamers with sparty stepping down from ownership due to inactivity and Declan ‘Ghost’ Briggs and Rich ‘RMX’ Moore stepping up to take management positions. Advance Gamers took a Call of Duty 4 team and 2 Counter-Strike:Source teams to Multiplay’s next large event i39. However both Counter-Strike teams disbanded shortly after LAN. One due to events which took place at the event and the other due to 2 players dropping out and the team being unable to find replacements. Rich ‘RMX’ Moore chose to step down from management following his team disbanding. As such Advance Gamers only took one Call of Duty 4 team to insomnia40, Multiplay’s biggest event to date. Advance Gamers attended insomnia41, placing a team into the Call of Duty 4 tournament once again, they also sent 2 players to represent Advance Gamers at the small LAN – Phoenix Lans ran in Rochdale, Manchester. Advance Gamers made it through the Group stages at i41 however, went out in the play-offs. They had more luck at PLans, with Ghost taking the Call of Duty 4 – ModWarfare FFA tournament and coming second in the UT2003 tournament.
2011 Bought yet more iSeries events for Advance Gamers, with us placing teams in both i42 and i43. We also confirmed an endorsement deal with Asus which would see them returning to our t-shirts for another season. We are now planning to wrap up the year with a new line-up and a new outlook. Our new line-up will hopefully be making their first appearance at Multiplay’s Insomnia44.
